Canada was a British colony, it was subject to British rule. However, the Canadian government had the freedom to determine the country's level of involvement in the war. my father went to the war immediately and they didn't ask of his race, but if they knew they would have killed him. my father talked about the No.2 Construction Battalion he had a friend of that which not treated so well they gave as a message to form my father.

dear mom and sister

we are okay, we right now fight in Italy and fighting back german soldiers, and we know we fighting for canada not for the bad german right now. the update of the war is the Japanese imperial army bombed the U.S Navel base. They sank 4 U.S battleships, and damaged other battleships, cruisers ,destroyers, a mine-layer, plus many aircraft. Approximately 2000 people died, and more than 1200 were wounded. This event was important because it forced America to join ww2 by declaring war on japan. In April of 1945, the Soviets surrounded the city of Berlin and began to attack; by this point, most of the important Nazi officials had run away from Germany. On April 29, 1945, Hitler married his mistress, Eva Braun. The very next day, he took poison and then shot himself in the mouth with a pistol. His wife also commited suicide. Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day) was celebrated on May 8, 1945 after the surrender of Berlin, North Germany, Holland and Denmark. By May 11, all remaining areas had surrendered. we are coming back dear mom sister all of us live.

the war ended and my brothers came back home safe which me and my mom though it's a miracle we lived happy life after this horrific time.
