A great example of an allusion is in chapter eighteen; "Annabeth Does Obedience School" on page 296. The quote is, "Quick! Go! EZ DEATH Line is faster!" The modern day Underworld has changed the name of the line to the "Fields of Asphodel" to the "EZ DEATH Line." This compares the fastest way to get on and off the highway to the easiest way to avoid getting judged on in the Underworld. A quick and easy way for a completely, mind-numbing afterlife in the Underworld. This is just one of the few allusions in Rick Riordan's; Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
