Group behavior has many benefits. For example, it can develop a sense of cooperation and teamwork. For instance, a swarm of insects hunting for food gives them an advantage at hunting more food. Also, by swarming their predators, they confuse them which helps them protect each other. Another benefit of group behavior is that they alert each other when a predator is nearby by putting themselves in danger.
