He first started exploring America looking for news of any wealthy Northern cities.
 This led him to discover The Legendary Golden Cities of Cibola.
 He then led an expedition across the dessert to the cities of Cibola.

Friar Marcos  then died in March 25, 1558.

Friar served in Peru, Guatemala, and Mexico.

He became provincial of his order in Mexico in 1541
