Model Airplane:
Our second Project was to make a model Airplane.

EQUIPMENT:

a 2H pencil
A chisel 
Mallet
Saw
Tri-square
Chopping board
Marking gauge
Marking knife
Bench hook
Ruler 
Quick clamps
Sand paper

WHAT I DID:
we started off by marking out our fuselage with a 2H pencil.

we then marked the wings and stand.

 I marked the waste 

 i set my marking gauge and marked a line at 10mm.

 then I used my saw to cut to cut the lines 

 when the lines were cut I used my mallet and chisel to take out the trench’s 

i cut away the wast

 I designed my wings and my fuselage 

went over and put a hole in my stand and wings to fit the dowel 

started sanding all my piece (getting rid of any lines)

I brought my piece over and glued it together and let it dry

OVERALL:

I thought I done better than the last time but still need to get better at chiseling
I was very happy with it

IF I WAS TO DO IT AGAIN

if I was to do it again I would probably spend more chiseling
And try and get it With no bumps in it!

Our second project this year was to make a model airplane.  We began with four pieces and used all of them to make the airplane.  The pieces were the wings, the fuselage and the two pieces for the stand. We created our own designs for the fuselage and the wings. When we were finished marking out we glued the pieces together and varnished our piece.
Techniques we used:
Chiseling, sawing, sanding, measuring, glueing and varnishing.
Tools we used:
Bench hook, marking gauge, sliding bevel, chisel, mallet, steel ruler, saw, tri square, quick clamps and a 2H pencil.
What I Learned:
I learned how to mark out using the sliding bevel.
I learned how to chisel downwards.
I learned how to use quick clamps.

HOW WE DID IT

First I marked out my base
Then the wings
Then the fuselage
Then we got the sliding bevel and marked
Out the lines at an angle
Then we marked out the vertical
Lines with a tri square and marking knife
Then we used the marking gauge
Then we used the tenon saw to saw the vertical lines
Then we chiseled out the trench on each part of the base
Then we designed the wings and the fuselage
And marked out the wings
Then we Cut out the trench in the wing
Then we drilled a hole in one of the base pieces
And in the trench in the wings
Then sir cut out the shape of the wings
Then we got a chopping board
And took out the trench with a mallet and a chisel
And then we started sanding down the piece
And then we stuck our piece together making sure that their was a thin layer of glue on every side of the piece that was being stuck together
After that was dry we varnished it all over and wanted for that to dry
And that’s how we made it


What I could have done better
I could have been more careful with my chisel and have no lumps in it

I think it turned out good

Method 
1. First we marked out the base,wings and fuselage.
2. We marked them with the sliding bevel,try square and a ruler.
3. We then used the marking gauge.
4. Then we used the tennon saw to saw the verticals lines.
5. Then we chiseled the trenches out of each piece. 
6. We then designed the wings and fuselage.
7. Then we drilled the wholes.
8. Then we and sanded the pieces down.
9. We then got wood adhesive and coated each surface with a thin layer of glue and stuck them together 
10. When the glue was dry we varnished them

Process:We first started of bye marking out the stand of are plane. We measured over 10, 120,10,120 and 10 millimeters I took the marking gauge and measured down 10 mm This was how deep I trench was.On the opposite side I done the
same.I took my bench hook and my tendon saw and cut down as far as my line.when I had the two lines cut I put my piece in the vice and then began to chisel up at an angle, when all the waste came out i chiseled across so I could make sure it was all leaval.i repeat all this on the opposite side. When I got both my piece fitting flush together I moved on to my wings. I measured across my piece 70,20amd 70 Itook a sliding bevel and marked out my lines at and angle for the shape of the wings.i then took my marking gauge and set it for 10 mm this was how deep the trench was going to be on the wings when I got that done I got my chopping board chisel and my voice I started to chisel down cutting out the wast. I made sure it was all even.my teacher then took off the angles of my wings and I drilled a hole for the dowel.i then makes out my design for my fuselage I cut the trenches out and my teacher then took of any angels off with the saw.now what I have to do is sand everything down make it sure there are no lines left on my piece .onece u have that done u glue everything together and then Varnish it .

What would u do different
Some thing I would do differently would be not draw my line so Harvey as it was so hard to sand them off

What I would do if I were to do this again....
Varnish 
Not brake off a chunk of the piece
Chisel better
Do the measurement right
Get a piece with no knot (because that is the piece that fell off)

What we did
First we marked out our base for the plane the we used the hack saw to cut out the trenches the we used a chisel to chisel out the trenches

Then we marked out our wings our teacher cut out the shape of our wings

Then we marked out our fuselage when we finished marking it out we had to chisel it out we put the piece on a chopping bored a held it down with two quick clamps. Then we drilled holes in the base and the fuselage. Then we had to sand the piece down so there was no lines on it. Then we clued the piece together and then we varnished it 

What I wold have done differently

I wold have not drawn the lines so heavily and I should have sanded the piece down more

Then we marked out the fuselage we marked it out and the we had to chisel it we used the chisel, the chopping board as we had to chisel on the side, the mallet, and the quick clamps.

Then we got the wings and we were aloud to make a design for the wing. You use a sliding bevel. And then Mister Noone cuts of the wast for us. Then we have to mark out the fuesalage and chisel it out.

What I learned..... I learned to use the clamps and chopping board, I have worked on cuts, don’t put to much glue and varnish on your piece or it will look bad.
