This was an event where the Pope moved from Vienna to Avignon. This was monumental since the Pope has always been in Vienna and connected to Rome and Italy. It upset many, especially in Italy and Rome. This would cause some of the Cardinals to attempt to depose the Pope and Avignon and they elected a new Pope in Italy. This would cause a rift in Europe and everyone would choose a Pope to support, not for religious reasons as much as for Political reasons.

This is what the doctors during the Black Death would commonly wear. They would put herbs into the "beaks" of the masks. They believed the herbs would help prevent the plague. They didn't really know how to combat the plague properly, so tactics like leaching were used because of the belief that people had bad blood inside them.

The impact of the late middle ages and its conflicts would be seen in the Renaissaunce but also could be seen today. The Hundred Years War would show that with enough money you could win a war, with France starting to lose to the English's superior military technology, but the French would ultimently end up winning. Also the war would help break down social classes and feudalism, with mercanaries playing a part in the war as armies for hire. This would break social class barriers as mercanaries didn't really have a place in the feudal pyramid. The Great Schism would also have an impact, with it being when we see the Churches political influence in Europe break down. Also the Black Death would contribute to the downfall of feudalism, with peasent revolts popping up all over Europe.
