The Hundred Years War would show that with enough money you could win a war, with France starting to lose to the English's superior military technology, but the French would ultimently end up winning. Also the war would help break down social classes and feudalism, with mercanaries playing a part in the war as armies for hire. This would break social class barriers as mercanaries didn't really have a place in the feudal pyramid. The Great Schism would also have an impact, with it being when we see the Churches political influence in Europe break down.
