But, in short: with HQIM being dropped in the laps of teachers who more often than not feel as though their current resources are sufficient, getting buy-in is a challenge. Opening them up to rethinking, and prior to that just considering the idea of rethinking, is the first challenge. The second challenge is figuring out how to create the space for them to be influenced internally, rather than solely from my external influence. As the book points out, changing one's surroundings does not impact lasting change.
