In this section of the book I don´t really relate to the character. In my life I´ve moved a little but it was never a constant moving. Growing up though i was constantly getting hurt mostly my fault but once or twice it wasn´t. Like Jeanettes family mine has always been close, loving, and supportive.

The motif in this section is resilience. It shows this by the many hardships they go through as a family first with Jeanette getting burned. Then doing the skedaddle from the hospital. There hotel also burned down while the parents weren't home. Lastly her falling out of the car. even after all of that they stuck together as a family.

After falling out of the car while passing through a small town the author Jeanette walls thought ¨They might decide that is wasn't worth the drive back to retrieve me; that, like the Quixote the cat, I was a bother and a burden they could do without.¨ It stood out to me because she as a little girl shouldn't have to think about things like that.

An event that shows the authors personality is when she hid from her mom at the beginning of the book. This shows that she is afraid of her past and wants to be a new person. She also wants to help her mom because she knows how much she did for her.

A recurring pattern that shows up every so often is fire. One effect is towards the beginning when she was burned while making food. It also shows up when she burned the face of her doll and when her and her siblings where in the hotel.

There is a mixture of moods because there are times where they are a happy family and other times when they go through struggle. One example of them being happy was when they were looking at the stars. A time when they were down or struggling was when the dad chased the mom in the car.

In the book the glass castle the wall family is aware of there economical problems. That is the reason they are constantly moving. It also shows when they start to go out a lot because they aren´t used to having money.

There money has a lot to do with how they live. This is proven by the debt collectors which is the reason for their moving. z
