The moodboard is a great way to expand on the vision you have for the production of something. The moodboard helps paint the picture or message you want to portray to the consumer.

Including this in the production made the end goal a lot more clear, and made the production a lot smoother with less complications, that most likely would have risen if the moodboard was not included.

The idea behind the advert was to have a couple struggling to conceive, however, due to limitations in time and resources I still had to try and keep the initial feel I wanted to portray through the advert. Luckily, I feel like the advert does wake a good variety of emotions, and can be portrayed in different ways. For example, the negative test can indicate difficulties.

Another issue that arose was during the opposition meeting, where concerns regarding the choice of wording for the slogan. At the time of the meet, the slogan was "Give life a chance" which was then brought up during the discussion in the sense that it can be misinterpreted as pro-life or suicide prevention, which was and is not the message that we wanted portray. This can partly be credited due to the current situation in society, where there's a lot of different movements with similar wording, and according to Eriksson (2018) the meaning can vary from person to person, depending on where they reside and where they grew up.

This made it a lot clearer that there are risks in creating a message and it's important to get second opinions to see outcomes that aren't as clear to you as it is to others.

Eriksson, L.

Right from the start of the assignment, we as a group sat down to plan for the upcoming weeks. What came out of that was a rough idea of how much time different parts would take. The images above show the final planning.

The project was divided in to four crucial parts with three obligatory customer meetings. The four parts consisted of the planning stage, idea and pre-production stage, first production stage and lastly, the final production stage.

All these parts make up the whole project and each part contributes to the next.

This version, which is the final one for this print, is a little bit different compared to the previous version, the biggest one however, is that the footer has been flipped and is the exact same as the other prints. This was done to make it more related to the other ones, as well as to create a sense of similarity.

Another part that had to be changed was the header, it was important to make the slogan stand out more, and what was done was to play around with the contrast. According to Davis and Hunt (2017), contrast plays a big part in how we percieve things. Our eyes are drawn to things that don't seem to fit in with the background and the rest of the bigger picture.

By doing this, the perception of what is important on the print has been drawn from what previoulsy was the the baby, to the slogan, then to the footer with the important information.

Davis, M., & Hunt, J.

When it comes to the final version of the advert, not much has changed. But a few important points should be made.

The amount of text per paragraph has been reduced to make it easier for the consumer to read as well as make it less cluttered. This was done after feedback after the opposition meet, which was great since that issues had not occured before.

The text has also been altered in size to make it more visually distinctive. According to Yablonski's von Restorff effect (2020), it's important to make key action and aspects visually distinctive. Yablonski also mentions that restraint is important when placing emphasis on certain elements, which has been done in this production, in the form of the background being blurred ot to put focus on the text.

Yablonski, J.

This print is the last in the series of prints, the last part of the story. The names that the prints have all tell a part of the story, a beginning, the middle and the end.

This print also represent the improved slogan which quite frankly is a lot better than the first version.

The theme for the prints, which is a crucial part according to Lupton (2017), is family. Another crucial part Lupton mentions is the context of the story, which is put together nicely, having all of the prints, in the same format, style and each representing different parts of the same story.

Lupton, E.
Color palette "Natrual Cycles"

The color palette used in the production of both productions are that of Natrual Cycles own. This is to create a familiar sense of feeling to the brand and what they stand for. According to Jakob's law (Yablonski, 2020) it's important to design with familiarity in mind. This can be interpreted in different ways, however for this project, the way this law was used was to keep the colors and branding as close to the original as possible. This was to keep the familiarity for those who have used it before and also set boundaries to make sure new users can identify the brand.

The color palette is also a great way of getting a starting point when it comes to choices. It makes it possible for the designer to make important choices in less time than having the full spectrum of colors to choose from.

Yablonski, J.
