In the 1800's, Job opportunities increased rapidly. This was because new factories and machines were being made. Allowing more managers and employees to manage and operate on these machines. This changed our society because more people worked in factories instead of farms, less "hands on" "man made" work was needed. These jobs also increased the overall wages and earnings.

In 1834, Philo Stewart designed a wood-burning cast-iron stove "the Oberlin Stove" "cast iron stove". It was a metal kitchen stove small enough for domestic use, much more efficient than cooking in a fireplace, since it increased heating capacity and enabled record cooking times. This changed our society because it allowed people to cook and eat their food more effectively and efficiently.
