         <title>Bataan Death March</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Date of Battle: The Bataan Death March began April 10, 1942 and ended April 17, 1942</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Description: The Battle of Bataan was after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, they invaded Luzon, Philippines. The Japanese assembled about 78,000 prisoners (12,000 U.S and 66,000 Filipino) They began marching up the east coast of Bataan. The men were exhausted and weak and if they couldn't keep up the pace they were executed.  </strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Outcome: The outcome of the bataan death march resulted in the deaths of 60,000-80,000 Americans and Filipinos due to brutal treatment. It led to war crime trials and is remembered at a tragic but powerful testament to human endurance.</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Significance: The Bataan death march is significant because it revealed Japanese ar cruelty. It inspired people to symbolize courage and sacrifices. </strong></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
