She felt like a blackberry in a pail of milk, when feeling like this, she went to the public and helped whites understand that slavery isnt good. They would go up and shake her hand. The author says she is a well dressed woman. She didnt know how to read or write but she memorizes from the bible. Her intelligence of the terrain helped the Union alot during the civil war. She was in the army for 3 years and was the first woman to lead troops into battle. She maried a handsome veteran named Nelson Davis. She decided to plant a large vegetable garden and toop orphans and the elderly. She fought for human rights before dying of pneumonia.
