The chapter named "I was on fire" when Jeanette is 3 years old and has an accident while cooking hotdogs. She gets burned pretty bad and has to visit the hospital for a good amount of time before being able to leave. She came out with burn scars that lasted her whole life. After the accident she becomes enfatuated with fire and doesn't let the incident scare her. Instead she begins to play with it more and ends up burning an inn down. As a kid I had an incident with fire and ended up burning some of my yard. I would probably name it “An Awkward Reunion”. While driving Lori and I also were counting all the places we had lived, we counted 11. Then Brian was trying to trade me his 3 Musketeers for my Mounds. Then all of a sudden we take a sharp turn over train tracks and I get thrown out. I waited for what felt like an eternity. I was really beat up and I thought they had left me behind for good. I really started to have faith in Rex when he told Jeannette that he would would do that for her and tortured himself to quit drinking. The "Back to Booze" chapter was kind of a let down. I give props to Rex for trying a little bit but he resorted back to his old ways. Once the kids realized that he went back to his habit of drinking they really weren't too surprised. This was saddening to me because they deserve to be.

I named this chapter "Fire Burns" because during this chapter Jeannette is 3 years old cooking hotdogs, without any supervision and she's 3 years!.
When she is cooking her hotdogs her dress catches on fire and starts to burn her; then her mother takes Jeannettes to the neighbors and says my daughter just got burnt really bad and the women drops what she is doing immediately house go to the hospital for 2nd and 3rd degree burns. This is why i named chapter 2 "Fire Burns".

It is where Rex gets out of the hospital from beating TB back and it was Christmas time. Jeannette gives her mom and dad wrapped presents and Rex storms off. To me it represents how Rex wanted to be a good dad. That’s why I like my title because he ran off knowing he hadn’t fulfilled those duties of being a dad. When Jeannette gives them new wrapped presents compared to their trash found gifts. This brought Rex’s regret full force to the front of his mind. In this chapter the family was somewhere out in Arizona,in the middle of nowhere, I think that the title relates to not only the geographical location of the story but also to Jeanette herself (the way she may be feeling). In this part of the memoir, Jeanette is 3 years old and she manages to set her dress aflame, she winds up in a hospital with 3rd degree burns for about 6 weeks, alone. She was alone for the most part when she was in the hospital, besides the calvary of nurses and doctors. Originally Jeanette was boiling hotdogs because her mother was busy, this is why I think Jeanette maybe felt like she was alone, she was a three year old who didn't even have someone to cook her breakfast. At this point her father and teachers were trying to convince her that this was a terrible and that she should just stay in Welch. Jeanette had been struggling with her situation for while and saw New York City as her escape from all of the chaos of her life.
