How to Find and Check Out an E-book Using Boundless by Adam Moliwell

Step 1: Access Boundless E-books

Begin by locating and opening the Boundless Library application on your device. This could be on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Please google "Elgin High School Library" and select the first link. This will open the page you see pictured here. The second icon underneath the words "Elgin High School" is titled Boundless E-books. Click on that icon.

Step 2: Log In to Your Account

Enter your username and password to log in to your Boundless account. This will be your google sign on information.

Step 3: Search the digital collection

Once logged in, locate the search bar at the top of the screen within Boundless. You can search for titles, authors, or even keywords in the search bar. You may also choose from books that are being advertised in the Fiction, Non-fiction, Ficción, and No Ficción.

Step 4: Enter Search Terms

Type in the title, author, or keywords related to the e-book you're looking for. You can also use advanced search options if available to narrow down your search.

Step 5: Filter Results for Resources

After searching or selecting a list (Fiction is pictured), use the filters provided for you on the left-hand side of the screen to filter your results. Some important filters include publication date, title, author, availability, and format (e-book, audiobook, graphic).

Step 6: Browse Search Results

Scroll through the list of resources that match your search criteria. You can usually see the book cover, title, author, and availability status. Note the information on the icons for more information. For example, there are pieces of information that tell you whether the book is waitlisted, an e-book or another format, the number of pages, or the total narration time for the audiobook.

Step 7: Select an E-book

Once you've found an e-book you're interested in, tap or click on its title or cover to view more details about the book.

Step 8: Check Availability

On the e-book's details page, check if it's available for checkout. If it's not available, you may have the option to place a hold on the book.

Step 9: Borrow the Resource

If the e-book is available, click on the 'Check Out' button. Confirm the loan period to ensure you checked out the book properly.

Step 10: Read it (multiple ways)

After checking out the e-book, you'll have the option to read it online within the Boundless app. Choose your preferred method. If you decide to use the mobile app, please use EHS login credentials (google sign-in) to access your resources.

Step 11: Enjoy Your E-book

Open the e-book and start reading! Remember that you can adjust font size, brightness, and other settings for a comfortable reading experience.

Step 12: Return or Renew

The e-book will automatically return at the end of the loan period. If you need more time, check if you can renew the book before it's due.
