Task: Schools need to learn how to discipline students' without turning it into a prison. The schools seem to point of the racial terms in count of school discipline and how they handle it. Punishment is too harsh for these young students, which could cause them to never learn their lesson. The author shows the type of evidence being used by showing real life examples of students and how the individuals handle the school discipline itself. The problem is that it's not around all schools, it is mainly referring inner-city schools. The author seems to make an effort to give examples of these schools and what is happening. Without the parents stepping in and protecting these students, school discipline would be getting out of hand.

Task: Hunger has been a real big issue cross the nation for a while now. Many homeless people have been living outside in the cold and we need to put an end to all the madness. The two supports they use is a fact stating that many people are homeless and live without shelter during harsh weather conditions with no food, water, clothing, or shelter. Another support that they use is that not to many people stop and hand out money to homeless people or even give them a wave or a smile, many people just ignore them. The author uses real life examples to find ways to grab the readers attention and make sure they know how these people feel.

Task: Many students go without having education in the schools across the nation. Sense all these hurricanes and tragic events have been happening across the globe, schools have been torn up and many houses as well. Without education, students are not able to do anything except clean up for what has been damaged. Schools that have education and learning abilities still aren't happy enough and are mad and sad that they have to go to school. But in the passage, it states that would they rather have a damaged community and have to spend all day everyday cleaning up, or go to school and gain education.

Task: The purpose of the text is to show how school discipline is going way too far in schools. Teachers and facility need to find new ways to handle school discipline between students. On the other hand, students in general need to clean their act up. The author used a great amount of tone to bring out the real meaning of how school discipline is handled these days. Pathos and Tone refer back to the purpose in many ways. The author uses tone and real life examples to show how the purpose, school discipline, and how it is handled. The author also uses ways to make the reader look back at when they were a kid and they were in school. The author makes you think about how school was back in the day, and does a good job comparing it to how school discipline is handled these days.

Task: The purpose of the text is to show people what these homeless individuals go through as being outside in terrible conditions. The author uses a great amount of imagery to be able to grab the readers attention and make sure they know how they feel. The purpose is to drag in the reader and possibly make them a better person and carry these attributes when they see a homeless person. Ethos causes the reader to keep reading and make a difference to as what is happening in the passage. If they keep reading, they could make a difference, and then many people will be making differences. The use of imagery helped the reader make these changes so if the author was to use anything else, the effect of the reader would have been completely different.

Task: The purpose of the text was to be able to show how schools are not as fortunate as we are. The use of imagery uses very detailed images to create a way to show how the schools are damages as well as photos showing the communities that are damaged and broken schools that are not able to be in use anymore. Without stormes, schools are still not able to function and have education due to lack of money and how they are able to function. The author use pathos to be able to describe the passage and be able to create the use of imagery throughout the passage.

Task: What stood out to me during this was how they handled school discipline and how they need to do a better job at handling this. The way they handled it stood out to me because it made me think of the way students at my school get in trouble and how the teachers and staff handle to problems here at my school. This helped me understand the topic more because of the way they described the way of how they handle discipline. This helped me understand more of how other schools works and to make sure that I keep my act up because this could happen to m any time if I would get into trouble, but good thing we don't have it this way.

Task: What surprised me throughout the passage was that the facts that the author pulled to create the imagery in the passage. The facts stood out to me very well and it made me feel that I should be able to make a difference, as well as many other people. This helped me understand the passage because I didn't think that this many people would be starving and be homeless. The question that still hasn't been answered is that if so many people are homeless and are going hungry, why are there not more shelters for these people, which would solve the problem.

Task: My personal reaction to this passage is that I usually dislike school, but after reading this passage I learn to like school, because schools across the nation don't have schools and aren't able to function because of how they don't have any money and storms that are happening. I connected to this because they talked about how students need to like school and be happy about it because other students can't have school education, so this referred back to me throughout the passage. I believe that many more individuals need to go to those educations and have money donations to these locations.
