El Yunque is a tropical forest, meaning that it gets lots of rain, and is quite warm throughout the year. If these factors change too much, such as little rain, and cold weather, the ecosystem can't support the biotic factors, and they die out, leaving the ecosystem in chaos. This is why the climate needs to stay constant.

El Yunque is the first tropical rain forest of the United States. Forests in general provide most of the oxygen for the entire world. They absorb lots of carbon dioxide. This is important because one, oxygen is what we need to live, and two, carbon dioxide is a large factor in climate change. We use the forest as a tourist attraction to Puerto Rico.

How Do Biotic Factors Interact With Abiotic Factors?

Biotic factors depend on abiotic factors to live and thrive. They use and interact with the abiotic factors to get what they need such as shelter, water, and other things. For example, plants use the wind to spread their seeds. However, some of these abiotic factors are so crucial to the animals, that without them, the whole ecoscenario could fall apart. For example, rain provides the biotic factors with water for drinking, or for other things, such as cooling down. Without it, they can't live. Temperature also affects them immensely. The average temperature of this tropical forest is around 70°, and animals depend on it to stay that temperature. If it changes too much, then the animals wouldn't be able to handle it since their climate is consistent. They would probably die out. This is why the amount of rain and temperature needs to stay consistent.
