Our Read-It-Once Again book for the month of March is The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. In this book, Peter gets into all kinds of trouble when he chooses not to listen to his mother's warnings about going into Mr. McGregor's garden.
Some teachable concepts covered in The Tale of Peter Rabbit are classifying names into animal/food/clothing; positional words on, over, beside, under, in, out; things that are the same and different; naming food items and vegetables; identifying emotions that are seen in the story; and much more. We will also read White Rabbit's Color Book by Alan Baker. This book helps to identify primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) and identifying other colors that form when two primary colors are mixed together.

This month our number focus is 7. We will recognize the number 7 in print or touch, count with 1 to 1 correspondence to at least 7, create sets up to 7, and identify which group of objects has “more” or “less." We continue to work on identifying alphabet letters and saying letter sounds, naming shapes and colors, identifying patterns, orally counting to 20, and learning about emotions.

Our nursery rhyme for this month is "One, Two, Three, Four, Five Once I Caught a Fish Alive."
