Das ist ein Interview mit der Sozialwissenschaftlerin und Aktivistin Imeh Ituen über den Zusammenhang von Klimagerechtigkeit und Kolonialismus. Obwohl der Kolonialismus offiziell vorbei ist, gibt es immer noch koloniale Strukturen heuzutage, die sich in vielen Lebensbereichen und politischen Entscheidungen zeigen. Wir wollen uns diesen Zusammenhängen bewusst werden, um nicht nur unsere Strukuren und Aktionen zu dekolonialisieren, sondern ebenfalls unsere eigenen Gedanken und Handlungen. 

This is an interview with social scientist and activist Imeh Ituen about the connection between climate justice and colonialism. Although colonialism is officially over, there are still colonial structures today that show up in many areas of life and political decisions. We want to become aware of these connections in order to decolonise not only our structures and actions, but also our own thoughts and actions.

Heute möchten wir uns mit einem Text über Schwarzen Feminismus und die Bedeutung von Intersektionalität auseinandersetzen. In Deutschland wird dem Zusammenhang und die Auswirkungen von Rassismus und Sexismus immmer noch zu wenig Beachtung geschenk. Es wird fast immer nur die Perspektive von weiße cis-Frauen auf Feminismus Raum gegeben und ignoriert die Lebensrealitäten und Erfahrungen von mehrfach diskriminierten Menschen. Einigen Perspektiven von women of color möchten wir hier den Raum geben. 

Today we would like to look at a text about Black feminism and the importance of intersectionality. In Germany, too little attention is still paid to the connection and impact of racism and sexism. Almost always, only the perspective of white cis-women on feminism is given space and ignores the realities and experiences of multiple discriminated people. We would like to give space to some perspectives of women of colour. 

Der heutige Text ist über Tokenism in der deutschen Klimabewegung. Es ist leider ein häufiges Phänomen, wenn sich weiße Menschen nur oberflächlich und unzureichend mit Rassismus auseinender setzen. 

Today's text is about tokenism in the German climate movement. It is unfortunately a common phenomenon when white people deal with racism only superficially and insufficiently. 

Wieso auch "Critical Whiteness" problematische sein kann und rassistische Strukturen reproduziert, wird genauer in dem heutigen Text erläutert. Der Text ist von Melanie Bee und fordert Menschen dazu auf authentische Beziehungen aufzubauen, statt sich nur mit kritischem Weißsein auseinander zu setzen.

Why "critical whiteness" can also be problematic and reproduce racist structures is explained in more detail in today's text. The text is by Melanie Bee and calls on people to build authentic relationships instead of only dealing with critical whiteness.

This letter is a critique from a BIPoC on the Climate Camp Leipziger Land 2019. It is another perspective that presents and critiques BIPoC experiences on climate camps. 

Debora Antmanna geht in dem heutigen Text auf die Frage ein, warum Jiddisch nicht in deutsche Münder und Klezmer wieder den Jüd*innen gehört. Es ist Teil der Debatte um kulturellle Aneignung, dass weiße, christliche Deutsche auch sich jüdische Kultur aneignen.

In today's text, Debora Antmanna addresses the question of why Yiddish does not belong in German mouths and klezmer belongs to Jews again. It is part of the debate about cultural appropriation that white, Christian Germans also appropriate Jewish culture.

Dieser Text geht über den Zusammenhang von Kopftüchern und Kolonialismus. Die Forderung, dass Enschleierung immer noch mit Freiheit und Gleichstellung zusammenhängt, stammt aus dem Kolonialismus und ist rassistisch und eurozentrisch.

This text is about the connection between headscarves and colonialism. The claim that veiling is still related to freedom and equality stems from colonialism and is racist and Eurocentric.

Today we want to look at the issue of living in solidarity. Low-cost and left-wing housing is still dominated by white, middle-class, cis people and does not give space for real solidarity housing and living together.

The connection between colonialism and the climate crisis is undeniable! Nevertheless, there is still a lack of recognition of this and the Global North is once again adopting colonial patterns in combating the climate crisis, as told in this text by the Black Earth Kollektiv.

Today we are talking about Tone Policing. Tone policing is a diversionary tactic in which someone attacks the tone, choice of words and emotions of the other person instead of addressing the content. It carelessly deals with people's greatest traumas and instead emits comments like "Don't get so upset!".

Heute geht es darum, dass Deutschland tief von christlicher Dominanz durchzogen ist. Viele nicht- oder andersgläubige Menschen werden dadurch unsichtbar gemacht. Hinterfragt die Norm statt weiter sie als "normal" anzunehmen.

The issue today is that Germany is deeply permeated by Christian dominance. Many non-believers or people of other faiths are made invisible as a result. Question the norm instead of continuing to accept it as "normal".
