The study finds that if physical inactivity could be reduced by just 10%, it could avert some 533,000 deaths a year; if reduced by 25%, 1.3 million deaths could be prevented. Say we got everyone off the couch and eliminated inactivity altogether: the life expectancy of the world’s population would rise by about 0.68 years".

The Lack of Exercise issue can be related to the Childhood Obesity, as lack of exercise now will affect your future self life spans, creating a path your past carved for your demise.

This quote means more to me than it did when I first picked it, It now means that our past has showed people the way to their death. The significance of the quote is that you can not change the past and the past could directly affect your life in the future. This quote might have had a different significance to Shakespeare at the time he wrote this, but to me it tells me try not to make mistakes that will haunt me in the future.
