There is a famous photograph somewhere where there is a drinking fountain in public and it says on a sign near it "whites only" </p><p><br/></p><p>this is one of the ways that racial segregation was implemented</p>]]></description>

Even the premise of being equal bur separate just shows that in action the minority group is inferior to whites. This was evident in many different parts of society like academic institutions and even in units in world War one and 2 where there was all black units. They were denied the ability to freely move through American society. It was made that it was significantly harder for black people to obtain wealth (buying land, getting proper paying jobs, gaining a well rounded education) and was used to keep black families and individuals in a state of poverty and generational trauma. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>jim crow was a minstrel song character that was created by white people in the northern area of the us. these people had never even met a black person before and yet they crafted a character they proposed was the common black man. the characteristics of the character were derogatory (obviously), perpetuates stereotypes and were portrayed by white people in blackface. i don’t have knowledge as to how the name of the character transferred over to be a name of segregationist laws </p>]]></description>
