It was on Wednesday, Aug. 22 for students who are or wanted to participate in service learning classes in preparation for partnerships with organizations within the the St. Mary's University community. I met representatives from San Antonio-area nonprofit organizations and learned a lot about volunteer opportunities in the San Antonio community. Some nonprofits I was really looking forward to meet were The Children’s Shelter, Communities in Schools, ChildSafe, The DoSeum, and San Antonio Youth Literacy representatives. This is because I hope to work for a non-profit organization in the future, mostly with children. The Greehey School of Business invited all students to attend on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
The event featured numerous companies and organizations with internship and job opportunities in the field of risk management and insurance. Students of all majors were welcome to attend.I decided to attend this career fair looking for internships in human services. I believe this could be a possible path I could take with my psychology major  if I decide to go to Industrial Organizational Psychology, which allows psychology majors to work alongside with business companies into what the customers want to focus on the people who buy or consume their products. That’s always I path I would like to pursue besides my main ones.

Civic Engagement Week will took place Monday, Sept. 17 and continued through Friday, Sept. 21. On Thursday Sept. 20. The office held a Post-Graduate Service Career Fair which explored domestic and international volunteer opportunities available to students after graduation through nonprofit and faith-based organizations. The event was co-sponsored by University Ministry, and since I am part of MLP I thought it would be a great opportunity to explore options after graduation besides graduate school. I was very interested in.
