canvas to protect the student/staff from all weather special in the winter when the conditions get worst and the littlebourne grounds get wet and muddy. The canvas canopy needs to be durable and connected to the ground with metal posts.

Needs to be stable so it does not fall onto people.

1 Stairs and flat path way for disability people.

For safety reason. fence around the court to keep the wild fish out and to keep the area protected.

Location will be the tennis courts.

Provide adequate seating and suitable facilities for at least 20 students

For seating we will design pine wood benches. The seats need to be durable, and look nice. They need to be spread out and bolted into the ground so that people cannot steal them. The seats will have tables with a similar design like the one in the photo below so that the students can have lunch in the area. They will be varnished so the elements do not take a heavy toll on their condition. Also the seat would need to be spread out so the students are not cramped.

1. Pine Wood stained benches designed like the ones in the Grandstand.

2. Curved wooden benches arranged in a natural style.

3. Wooden stair seats. The image below is an idea of the bench/table idea designed along the same lines as the one in the grandstand.

Provide adequate facilities for 20 students.Facilities can include drinking fountains.

The Drinking fountains must be high quality, with a small step for smaller people to easily access them.

Decorations=CRITERIA=

Include appropriate features to enhance the overall appearance.

All of the features would need to be relatively easy to maintain. For example a water feature would look amazing clean but not great when mucky/or when the trees are shedding leaves. All decorations would need to be painless and not cause any future trouble.

1.Plants

Any native shrubs or trees would enhance the areas overall look and feel. Pungas, Ferns and Kowhai trees would be good. They would have to be non flowering types as the flowers would attract bees to the area and drive away students. Evergreen trees would be useful as they would not drop leaves everywhere during autumn.

2.Water feature

A water feature in the center of the recreation area would add to the effect of tranquil environment we are trying to create. A sphere that turns by water moving it would be good. Other ideas include a water fountain and a pool for ducks or fish.

3. General Decoration

Such as murals, stones or brickwork. The students in the art class could possibly create something. Anything reflecting New Zealands Maori heritage eg: Carved Wood
