Just when Russia started to defended themselves, the winter came, leaving Germans in a difficult place, without weapons that can resist the winter, without winter clothes and leaving Russia with a huge opportunity. Germans started to died because of diseases, because of the winter and because they weren't prepared for a winter like this, Russia took possession over the city of Stalingrad again and the Germans started to back out. Russians took over 90,000 German soldiers as prisoners, a lot of Germans soldiers died when Russians made them walk without winter clothes from Stalingrad, Russia to Siberia, Russia during winter. Years after only 5,000 out of 90,000, Germans soldiers survived and went back to Germany.
