In the beginning they are talking about how George the third was ruling the the 13 colonies of Britain and then he made them pay tax’s and Britain got upset with that and then Britain and the colonists went to war. Then they talk about Thomas Jefferson writing the draft of the Declaration of Independence and how after they changed some parts after he wrote it. Next they talk about the all the people who signed the Declaration and where it is kept in a sealed box with the Declaration inside of it.

At the start of the story Declaration of Independence France and Britain were at war but Britain won the battle. In the middle of the story they decided to declare their independence with a formal document so they could create their own and the British were at war by May 1775. Then the government should respect those rights, and if they did not, then the people should create a new government. After that it was time to conduct a vote on Declaration of Independence on July 2, 1776. Finally the Declaration of Independence can be seen at the National Archives in Washington D.C. on display in the Rotunda for Charters of freedom. King George 3 criticized the men who signed it. He wanted to keep the colonies though so the Britain continued fighting for another seven years. Then in 1776 people celebrated Independence Day on July 2 but then they started officially celebrating it on July 4th in 1870. After that 56 delegates signed a copy of the Declaration. The youngest signer was Edward Rutledge at 26 years old and the oldest was Benjamin Franklin at 70 years old. But after that the British continued to fight for 7 more years until they surrendered.
