My imaginary day as a scheduler

At the beginning of the shift, I would login into my tools (WellSky,Teams and Outlook), see if I have any messages left on teams from my team updating on any situation. Let my supervisor know that I'm online. After the checking of updates or meetings with my team, see if anything happened to the shifts scheduled while I was away. After all of that, I would start taking calls and creating or modifying shifts. While in the call, I would take some notes to put in the system but also to send them to my team on teams updating them on any changes done by me. It would continue like this until the end of the shift where I would disconnect and let my team handle the rest.

As a scheduler i think a normal day would be something like the following: As a scheduler, I think a normal day would be something like the following: I start my morning by reviewing the scheduled appointments and meetings for the day. First, I prioritize the urgent tasks, making sure to confirm any last-minute changes or cancellations that may have come in overnight. Once I have a clear picture of the day's agenda, I prepare my schedule, allocating time blocks for each appointment.

Throughout the day, I stay in constant communication with my team, ensuring everyone is on the same page. This involves sending reminders for upcoming meetings, coordinating with clients for any adjustments, and managing any unforeseen conflicts that arise. A big part of my role is to remain flexible and adaptable, as schedules can shift quickly in any environment.

By mid-afternoon, I take stock of the day's progress, checking off completed tasks and revisiting the remaining agenda. I make it a point to follow up on any actionable items that need my attention. As the day finishes, I begin preparing for the next day, drafting tentative schedules and reaching out to the client for any input on their needs.
