]]> 2021-11-02 17:56:23 UTC https://padlet.com/csteeves1_1/v2qmuq5v4d0b37sp/wish/1862446867 SEL https://padlet.com/csteeves1_1/v2qmuq5v4d0b37sp/wish/1862448106 We have had some success using a blended learning model of several SEL programs.  The themes found in the Social Thinking curriculum have helped second-graders to self-assess their behaviors in a school community.  They’ve discovered “Listen Larry,” “Whole Body Thinking,” and “The Group Plan.”  The kids start to understand that their actions impact (positively or negatively) the learning experience of others.  We’ve also incorporated lessons from books written by Julia Cook (e.g. My Mouth is a Volcano, Wilma Jean the Worry Machine, A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue, I Can’t Believe I Said That).  These are very kid-friendly, funny, and effective in helping children grasp social skills.
