Dream resort has many hotels around the world and usually we go to the hotels in Mexico. Since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic during the summer, we had to cancel that plan. We haven’t seen my family friend in so long but this summer in June, I will be going to Ohio to attend a sleep away camp with him. I made this painting in the beginning of quarantine and it took me about 4 months to finish. I don’t have a picture of how it looks finished but I painted the fingers orange and the stripes in the background red and black. I painted the fingernails a light turquoise and outlined the fingers with a black paint marker. I got it for my birthday and I was so so happy because I had already self taught myself drums using my friend’s drum set and I really wanted one of my own. Also, the huge speaker next to the drum set was a gift from my dentist that I got in April. My dentist and I love music and we love the same bands. My dentist was in a band when he was a teenager and still had all the speakers he used in his concerts. He was looking for someone to give his Fender Metalhead to and he decided to give it to me. I was so surprised when he asked me if I wanted it because Fender Metalhead speakers are so so expensive and he gave it to me for free. I usually play drums with that speaker and it is so loud and amazing I’m so in love with it. I think back to last year and the years before everything that I used to think were completely normal things to do, but now a would be frowned upon. Before, we would go to school with colds and sick and we would cough around people and it was all fine. These days, something like coughing around people without masks or covering our mouths occasionally are extremely dangerous and would definitely cause a lot of bad stares. I wonder if we will ever have a future where masks aren’t an everyday item you have to bring when going outside. I wonder if covid will ever even end forever.
