Firstly, one reason is that taking a year gap can help to broaden the student’s horizons. This is because when students travel to different places in the world, especially in forests or deserts, they would experience extreme weather conditions. By doing this, their self-esteem and physical tolerance will increase. For example, my brother used to be a couch potato before graduating high school. However, he decided to be a volunteer and travelled to Africa – a place with hard living condition. After that trip, he became more independent than before.

Additionally, people travel around the world during this year gap can gain more experience and knowledge. This can be very beneficial to their future because traveling and communicating with native speakers will help them to learn new languages and gain more knowledge about the diversity cultures around the world. Other students choose this time to gain work experience. This can be useful if that work is connected to their chosen area of study. Often, students who have worked before attending to university appreciate their course more, as they are able to understand the relevance of what is being taught.

Overall, therefore, as I discussed in this essay, there can be several benefits to taking gap year. However, this time must be used wisely and no wasted. I believe that the experience of not studying for a year prior to entering university is a good idea due to its role in broadening their horizons and decreasing any psychological pressures.

To begin, many undergraduates travel to and discover new places before enrolling in higher education. During this time, you may encounter people who work in a variety of occupations, and some of these occupations may influence their decision to pursue a university course concentration. For example, a student who wants to enter an institution for further study may encounter a variety of occupations such as tourism manager, hospitality manager, archaeology officer, and so on, which may influence their decision to pursue higher education in one of these fields. If someone does not travel before college, they may not have a clearer vision when it comes to deciding on a master's degree. 

Moreover, a large number of students choose to work for a reputable business. This could lead to students gaining valuable knowledge and exposure, as well as hands-on experience in the business world they will be a part of after they finish their education. For example, a freshman may already have practical accounting expertise because he worked as an intern prior to receiving his accounting master's degree, and this information may be in line with the theoretical studies he is obtaining.

To summarize, traveling to other locations or working in a company during a gap year before to attend to university, those experiences can be beneficial to young people prior to pursuing higher education.

  On the other hand, I believe that the aforementioned disadvantages pale in comparison with worthwhile benefits that gap-year takers can attain. Firstly, inadequate career guidance can lead to serious waste for both an individual and the whole society. For example, according to the research of the Federal Bank in New York in 2020, only 27% of bachelor’s degree holders work in the field that they graduated. Subsequently, the prestigious company is not the only destination 

that is conducive to a worthy experience. While taking a gap year, teenagers will enrich and hone their practical skills through ways they live independently, explore the world and immerse themselves in an alien culture. These are all valuable and necessary experiences that empower them in the future.
  To conclude, while taking a gap year is a controversial topic regarding its counter-effects, I still believe that it plays an important role in identifying a suitable career path for seniors and broaden their horizons.

In general, spending for gap time is not a bad choice which potentially brings us galore profits. Firstly, we can raise our experiences and knowledge by approving a trip in our free time. To be more specific, when we go to many countries or places, we have opportunities to try something new, learn about plenty of cultures and that is a good chance to open our mind. From those knowledge, you will be able find yourself, outline clearly your future, from that you will have a specific life goals. 

On the other hand, unless you do not use your time wisely, it will easily lose your mind and is especially a waste of time. When we lose ourselves too much, we would have an inclining propensity that we are relaxing after the 12th grade. From that, we will easily debauched the appealing experiment. 

Benefits or not, I still think everything also has both sides and in fundamental ways we must control ourselves and make clear decisions. Moreover, when we decides take a gap, we must commit ourself and make sure the plan.
