AutiGender/NeuroGender Discussion by Meara Kane

According to Gender Wiki (https://gender.fandom.com/wiki/Neurogender): Neurogender is an umbrella term to describe when someone's gender is somehow linked to their neurotype, mental illness, or neurological conditions. There are many different neurogenders related to most, if not all, neurodivergencies. AutiGender is a NeuroGender identity in which one feels their gender is connected to their autism. Because those with autism may have difficulty understanding societal interactions, this can change their understanding of gender, making it difficult to describe.

Personally I've never had a lot of time until this year to think about my own gender identity. I'm not sure how exactly I relate to the concept of gender yet, but I've recently been exploring with using the term "queer" to describe myself instead of the gender I was assigned at birth. When I learned about the concept of NeuroGender, it kind of resonated with me because I feel like gender might be another area in which I function differently from what is considered "typical." I'd definitely be interested in meeting with some folks who identify as NeuroGender to hear about their experiences.
