Some strategies the author recommended was to review the literature on a similar topic that you are going to explore within your study to familiarize yourself with what other authors have written about it. This strategy will help the researchers “consider what kinds of questions have not yet been asked (Roulston, 2010, p.2)." By doing this strategy, you will understand what you still need to explore within your topic of interest and this could help you formulate your research. To schedule interviews, I plan to allow the participant to schedule a date and time that works best for them. Due to this epidemic, I plan to provide options to my participants by allowing them to choose whether they prefer to have a zoom meeting or a phone appointment. The suggestions in there are definitely some things that I have not considered. For example, Roulston (2010), mentions that it can be helpful to have a journal where the researcher details how they have made decisions or what has gone on through their mind as they analyze the data they have received. I definitely know that it will be tough to recruit participants during this time as the pandemic has really made people of tired of jumping on Zoom. I hope to offer options on how to conduct the study. If they live on the campus, I can meet with them outside but I can also do a phone call if they are zoom fatigued. As the chapter says, gaining consent can look different in their respective settings so I will need to think this through.
