         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>How I met this goal: </strong>I met this goal by choosing books that I normally wouldn't choose. In the past, I have selected books based on familiar tropes and character archetypes. However, I took a risk and challenged myself to read more Historical Fiction this semester. Although it took me more time to finish these novels, I gained so much more knowledge that is relevant to topics discussed in English 11. For example, I read a book called "James" by Percival Everett. This novel covered topics about race and how race functions in America. In English 11, we learned about similar topics when discussing The American Dream for diverse communities. Overall, I am proud of my accomplishment as it has led me to be more socially aware and empathetic. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>How the evidence supports my learning and proves that I am meeting (or close to meeting) my goal: </strong>The evidence I have selected is my "Reading Tracker" from January 16th-January 23rd. I did not only use my reading tracker on Thursdays, but at home as well. I truly wanted to start and finish a book that I took a risk selecting. My reading tracker includes two stickers, which shows that my teacher checked it. It also includes my progress as well as shows when I finished reading it! </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>How I met this goal:</strong></p><p>My goal this semester was to read one to two books by the end of the semester. I met this goal by staying somewhat consistent with my reading and using up my time during Warrior Reading. I chose a book that interested me the most which made it easier to focus. Even though I wasn't able to read sometimes because I was busy I actually found it enjoying to read a book in silence. By the end of the semester I am proud to say that I completed most of the book "The Great Gatsby". I understand it's not the whole goal but it's more than what I would do previous to this class.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How the evidence supports my learning and proves that I am meeting (or close to meeting) my goal:</strong></p><p>Although this picture of the reading tracker isn't 100% filled out, it shows the subtle progress on the days I decided to read during class. The filled in sections of the tracker show I was somewhat consistent whenever Mrs. Moreno wanted us to read in class. This tracker is proof that I read during class and even though I didn't finish the book, I was really close to the end.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>How I met this goal:</strong></p><p>My goal this semester was to consistently write down proper notes to improve my writing skills. I met this goal my constantly staying focused on my work. And something that helped me with that was AVID. AVID has me constantly writing down notes so when taking on this challenge I knew I would be able to improve. I would also review my notes at home if I were to study. My handwriting has also gotten better I would say. More neater and clean when someone wants to read a paper I handwritten.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How the evidence supports my learning and proves that I am meeting (Or close to meeting) my goal:</strong></p><p> The picture I provided is my notes I would take for my AVID class. This proves I have been writing notes and not only that but improving on my notes. My notes would be sloppy and unorganized in my binder. Now I feel more organized with my notes and if i'm feeling fancy with my notes I would Highlight some parts to show I reviewed them or when I do want to review them.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>How I met this goal:</strong></p><p>My goal this semester was to speak up more and to ask for help when needed. I actually feel I have improved on asking for help when needed by emailing my teachers. At a certain point during the semester my grades weren't too good so in order to improve on them I decided to email my teachers on  what I could do to improve my grade. As for contributing more to class speaking wise I feel I talk my fair share amount. I could definitely improve more on raising my hand but I feel I have been doing good.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How the evidence supports my learning and proves that I am meeting (Or close to meeting) my goal:</strong></p><p>The picture I provided is a email that I sent to Mrs. Moreno, about an assignment that I missed. Granted, I missed the assignment with no excuse but, I still emailed to make sure it was eligible for credit. I learned to ask for help more constantly and raise my hand more during class to be more engaging.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>How I met this goal:</strong></p><p>My goal this semester was to pay attention and listen in class. I met this goal by staying focused during lessons. Although there have been situations where maybe I have been a distraction. Whilst movies were playing such as "Raisin in the Sun" and "The Great Gatsby" I avoided distractions like my phone or side conversations and wrote notes on the movie. By being more engaged, I noticed I was able to complete my assignments more confidently.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How the evidence supports my learning and proves that I am meeting (Or close to meeting) my goal:</strong></p><p>The notes I took during our "A Raisin in the Sun" movie time which shows how I was paying attention and listening in the class. The details in my notes are about the movie and go into detail on whats the movie is about through each scene. My notes are organized, thoughtful, and show that I was actively participating in the learning process. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong> 1. Responsibility</strong></p><p>This semester, I've shown responsibility by being prepared for class and staying on top of my classwork. I took ownership of my learning and made sure I asked for help when I needed it instead of falling behind. I also made sure to also write clear and organized notes. This is especially shown during the Raisin in the Sun notes.</p><p><strong>Evidence</strong>: My "A Raisin in the Sun" notes show I was listening, following directions, and taking responsibility for my own learning.</p><p><br/></p><ol start="2"><li><p><strong>Commitment</strong></p></li></ol><p>I demonstrated commitment by setting a personal reading goal and sticking with it throughout the semester. As to what I previously said, my goal was to read one to two books throughout the semester. Through commitment I was able to be as close as I was to finishing the book. I am a little disappointed as to not finishing the book or going above and beyond and reading a second one, but I am proud of the commitment I made to at least try.</p><p><strong>Evidence</strong>: The photo of my reading tracker shows the effort and time I put in to stay committed to my reading goal.</p><ol start="3"><li><p><strong>Integrity</strong></p></li></ol><p>I showed integrity by being honest in my work and doing everything to the best of my ability. I did not copy others work cheats when it was possible to do so. I made sure my assignments were done by me and not by A.I. Integrity matters to me because I stopped using A.I to do my work because not only is it not allowed but its not right.</p><p><strong>Evidence</strong>: My completed assignments and personal notes reflect my honest efforts and original thinking throughout the semester.</p><p>*the evidence used is the photos from the previous goals for proof</p>]]></description>

         <title>Grade Request Letter</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>As we approach the end of the semester, I want to take a moment to reflect on my work. This semester has been challenging and quite stressful. I have been working hard on other classes but haven't been focusing on this one which is bringing down my grade significantly. While I feel confident in some areas, there are others where I am working towards improvement.</p><p>	One of my main academic goals for this semester was to improve my writing skills. I believe I am on track to meet this goal, as I have consistently turned in high-quality essays and actively sought feedback on my work, My writing has shown noticeable improvement, I am able to structure my arguments with clarity. Another goal was to participate more actively in class discussions. I feel that I am meeting this goal, as I have contributed to almost every class discussion, offering thoughtful insights and questions, I have become more comfortable speaking in class, which has helped me engage better with the material. Lastly, I aimed to stay organized and manage my time effectively. I have been successful in using a planner to track assignments and deadlines, ensuring that I complete all tasks on time. My work habits have significantly improved, and I feel more in control of my academic responsibilities.</p><p>	One personal goal was to maintain a healthy balance between my schoolwork and personal life. I've made an effort to spend quality time with my family while focusing on my academics. Another goal was to improve my physical health by exercising regularly. I have managed to exercise at least three times a week, which has helped me stay energized and focused throughout my studies. Finally, I aimed to improve my mental health by practicing mindfulness and stress management.I have been praying daily and getting closer with god daily.</p><p>	Based on my progress, I believe a grade of B- would be fair enough. I am currently at a D+ in the student portal. I understand how that may sound super crazy and is a big jump in letter grades but I can vouch for why my grade is where it's at. My essay is already turned in so that is to be graded which will bring up my grade. And I also have an extra credit assignment that will significantly bring up my grade when put into the grade book. I have tried all semester to turn in assignments that I have missed and/or make up for during lunch class periods. So when reading this letter I hope you put this B- grade into consideration even though it may show on student portal that I am below for now.</p>]]></description>
