<title>A modern fairy tale appropriate is the tale of Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid was originally written by Hans Anderson and adapted by Walt. The original story was dark and included themes such as suicide and murder. As a result, Walt had to appropriate the text to suit a younger audience. In the original version, every step taken by the little mermaid includes the sensation of sharp knives. She fails to achieve her mission and is given another chance to live through murdering the Prince, however, she decides to kill herself instead and has to commit good deeds for 300 years before regaining her soul. The original version is majorly appropriated all themes of murder and suicide are excluded to suit the young audience. Additionally, the young mermaid achieves her goal and lives happily ever after.</title>
