On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. We feared that they were getting information from inside our country. We decided to relocate all Japanese Americans in an attempt to solve this issue. We thought this was the best decision to ease our suspicions.    . This was a huge mistake. After realizing what we did he are ashamed of our actions. We got so caught up in the war we didn’t realize what we were doing to our own people. We know this won’t solve all your problems but we are giving your $20,000. This is much less than your deserve but hopefully it assist you in your future endeavors.

People viewed you differently, frowned upon you, and were skeptical about your intentions and actions. Also, as you were contained in the camps, there were many brave and loyal Japanese Americans that served in the military to protect the United States. Therefore, we offer a sincere apology to you and your families for the actions that unfairly denied your fundamental liberties during World War II. We know these reparations can’t erase the past, however we’d like to extend $20,000 to you as part of our apology. We are truly sorry for what we did and hope this offer can help you in the future.
