         <description><![CDATA[<div>Through children's natural curiosity, topics are brainstormed. Students are taught what topics are appropriate and inappropriate. They select a topic that is personally engaging to them and then create rich questions about the topic. <br><br></div><div>Explicit Skills: Students learn: how to choose appropriate topics, how to develop questions that lead to inquiry, identify their purpose for the inquiry and to use their prior knowledge as a platform for further research.<br><br></div><div>Strategies: KWL chart, teacher conferencing, exemplars, pictures of their exploring process and then having them explain it, building success criteria together </div>]]></description>
