His connection and history with poverty allowed him to connect with a lot of people gaining easy supporters. Although losing power to the Returned Student group it was not until January of 1935 when he gain recognition. Other factors that allowed Mao Zedong to reach such a powerful position was the unstable governments and Ideology he presented.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Believing that he was doing the right thing Mao’s repeatedly attempted to create a new “socialist” China it unknowingly killed 65 million Chinese. Did not allow anyone who he deemed dangerous to his position live and even went as far as  to execute, imprison or even  starve them. Ruined China's agriculture by his disastrous farming methods.He destroyed profitable tea plantations for unnecessary rice fields </div>]]></description>

Before his death/downfall he sent out his Red Guards to begin back order to some cities that had revolted against him. Although this was believed to gain Mao Zedong more power, in reality it was a small snowball that started the eventual end of his reign </div>]]></description>
