Well as many of us do i use Netflix, YouTube and many more of these services everyday. I personally believe that these are going to be the death of cable TV and I fully support it. I even tried to convince my parents to switch to just streaming services but that only partially worked

This is good for the future of our media. Less time wasted for certain shows we enjoy to come on or missing it completely. I also think that our current streaming services allow for more originality and creativity.

What I Have Discovered

Through the articles I have used I didn't think there would such deep studies on the matter. There is evidence that shows cord-cutting is become more popular. "Using a nationwide survey driven through Amazon’s
Mechanical Turk, this study found that while a variety of gratifications, factors
related to technical audience activity, and media substitution factors had positive
relationships with cord-cutting intentions, it was the perceived advantages of streaming applications over traditional television that best predicted consumers’
intentions to cut the cord on cable and adopt Web streaming when controlling for the other variables."
This means that cable users would prefer to switch to streaming services.

While cable TV still has a long time before becoming obsolete it seems it is in its future. After the research I have done and the study's I have read many people every year switch to only streaming services. The creation of the internet was the beginning of the end for cable TV and with such reliable other sources for our entertainment needs we could see it going away shortly.
