         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Destarch a variegated plant – partly green and partly white<br>2. Make a drawing of the leaf<br>3. Place the plant in bright light for several hours.<br>4. Test the leaf for starch using the 4-step starch test.Make another drawing of the leaf.&nbsp;<br>5. In this drawing show the areas of the leaf that tested positive and those that tested negative for starch.</div><div><br>Results:<br>Only the areas that contained chloroplast (the green parts) will photosynthesise and therefore test positive for starch, showing that chloroplast is necessary for photosynthesis.<br><br>IV: light <mark>different parts of leaf</mark><br>DV: colour of leave <mark>presence of starch or not/ colour change in iodine solution starch test</mark>&nbsp;<br>CV: temperature, co2 concentration, same type/specie of plant, same duration of experiment</div>]]></description>

Cover both plants with clear plastic bags and secure them with elastic bands<br>3. Place the plant under sunlight for 6 hours<br>4.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Remove a leaf from the plant<br>2. Fill a beaker with water and use a bunsen burner to heat the water until it boils <br>3. Leave the leaf in the boiling water for 30 seconds<br>4. Fill a <del>test</del> <mark>boiling</mark> tube with ethanol, place the leaf inside the test tube and place it inside the beaker with boiling water<br>5. Place leaf into a beaker of water to soften the leaf<br>5. Spread the leaf onto a white tile and add iodine solution to test for starch<br><br>Starch is present: Orange brown to blue black<br>Starch is not present: Remains <del>blue black</del> <mark>orange brown!!</mark><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>How does light intensity affect the rate of photosynthesis?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Using a spatula, measure 5g of sodium hydrogen carbonate on an electronic balance and transfer the powder to a 600m beaker.<br>2. Using a 100ml measuring cylinder, fill the beaker with 500ml of tap water and stir the mixture with a glass rod until the solute is completely dissolved<br>3. Cut a piece of Cambomba at one end and insert the cut end inside a small funnel<br>4. Fill a test tube with tap water to the top, carefully turn it upside down and fit it onto the tip of the funnel<br>5. Set the beaker 10cm away from the LED lamp&nbsp;<br>6. Turn on the lamp and start the stopwatch<br>7. Count the number of gas bubbes given out in 1 minute<br>8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 but with 40cm and 70cm away from the lamp<br><br></div>]]></description>
