Rosa Lynn

I will make sure to have tables close together and have children gather on the table. But before children goes in the classroom, I will have everything ready for this activity. Make sure I have water colour papers ready (few papers for each child), have water ready around the tables, get some paint brushes and water colour paint ready (along with trays), and put paper towels around the tables. I will then give them smocks

I will introduce this activity by asking the children to go on the rug for circle time and start singing a song about colours and ask everyone if they like painting. I will then tell them that we are going to be painting a sunset

I will say to children that it is not okay to paint others and it is totally not okay to eat the paints, I then will say that I love sunsets and ask them if they also love sunsets

If a child starts to paint another child, I would ask that child to give me the paint brush and tell that child that it is not okay to paint others. And if a child starts eating a paint, I would tell her that paint is not a food and if she will be eating paint, then she is all done (politely)

How will you set up the classroom and the supplies for this sunset activity?

I would set up the tables close together so the children can gather on the table together while they are doing a painting. Before the children goes in the classroom I will have everything ready for this activity, making sure if the water colour papers ready, few papers for each child. Have water ready around the tables, get some paint brushes and water colour paint ready along with the trays and put the paper towels around the tables.

I would introduce this activity in a circle time, so when they arrive to the classroom we would sit in a circle time and ask them if they like painting. I would tell them that we will be painting a sunset, and tell them that we will be using 3 primary colours.

I will tell the children that it is not okay to paint other child. As I love the sunsets and I would ask them if they also love the sunsets.

If a child starts to paint other child i would tell them it is not okay to paint another child. While we are painting, we only paint to the paper that is in front of us. And tell them when we are painting it is only for the paper. And it is no good to eat as it might be something that will get our stomach upset and it taste awful.
