         <description><![CDATA[<div>Everything started in 1829, when Louis Vernet was chosen as the governor of the Falklands islands, so Great Britain got an interest on these islands. In 1829, the British did a formal protest saying that Argentina assumed the authority with "His Britannick Majesty’s rights of sovereignty" over the islands.</div>]]></description>

To answer, the other American warships destroyed all military installations and razed the buildings. To let the islands free, without a government they put most inhabitants under arrest and then left.</div>]]></description>

The issue between Argentina and the British simmered in Argentina since 1833 on, being an important part of the national image. These dispute got an official recognition with the passing of Resolution 2065 in the United Nations’ General Assembly. Were 17 years of negotiations that proved to be largely fruitless.</div>]]></description>
