Pear Deck Slides!

This is a slideshow I have used previously to teach different cell organelle functions. I added some interactive Pear Deck questions and edited content of the slideshow for relevancy to just animal cell organelles. The interactive part of the Pear Deck slides are "retention check" questions throughout which allow for student participation to test their knowledge and understanding of the material as we go through the slides. I tried to mix in both short answer and free response questions.

Claude Matching Game

This is a matching game I made using claude and the Pear Deck slides to create a fun way for students to study cell organelles. I made two versions to make sure the game contained only information presented in the slides. The first version contained more organelles than what I had in the slides. This is a good way to test if students have a basic understanding of each of the organelle functions. In class I envision giving students the link to the game and allowing them to work in groups to complete the game as a way of opening up opportunities for discussion and identifying points of confusion.

Quizlet from Brisk

I used Brisk to make a quizlet based on the Pear Deck slides. Similar concept to the game in resource 1 but the quizlet cards go more in depth for each organelle and also touch on the cell theory part of the lesson. Initially, some of the quizlet cards went too in depth or covered irrelevant bullets so I made adjustments to highlight the important parts of the organelles and cell theory. This resource would be a great tool outside of class to help students study the material and gain mastery over organelle functions.
