         <description><![CDATA[<p>Despite the ongoing construction of a chapel in Hagonoy, Bulacan, devotees of Saint Nicholas on Wednesday, September 10, continue to flock and prove their faith by participating in the annual fiesta of their miraculous patron saint.</p><p><br/></p><p>The religious event, called “Pagsisiyam”, commenced on September 1 and marked the beginning of nine days of preparation prior to the fiesta.</p><p><br/></p><p>Catholic practices such as Novena Masses, flower offerings, and grand procession took place during the nine days of preparation until the official fiesta celebration.</p><p><br/></p><p>St. Nicholas of Tolentino is known for his miracles of healing, being declared as the “Patron Saint of the souls in Purgatory”, against epidemic diseases, and as an advocate against fires.</p>]]></description>
