The inca's were a were civilized people. The figured out how to freeze dry food. The nights in high mountains are very cold. The Inca's used that to their advantage and put the smaller potatoes from harvest and laid them out on flat land for three nights and let them freeze. During the daytime they would be stomped on to get rid of any remaining juices/water in the potato then froze for another two nights. Once they were done, they would call the freeze-dried potato a chuno.

I would give this innovation a 4 of 5 good influence because Inca warriors would bring many chunos on their excavations and journeys to other territories since they were small, lightweight, and could last for months sometimes years. Villigers would be able to eat these if there was a drought or any other events where crops would not grow. They would use chunos in hot dishes.
