What I share with my classmates is the second question. This article wants to study how chatbots can assist language learning. The hope is to facilitate interaction through intermediary tools. This interaction can refer not only to the interaction between humans and AI, but also to the interaction between humans and language learning. Use qualitative research and activity theory. Two answers can be found by reading the literature, on the one hand, people's perceptions of AI, and on the other hand, the impact of AI on people. Through literature data analysis, it can be found that AI can enhance people's interest in learning, thus promoting language acquisition and obtaining better learning results. At the same time, we need to look at AI critically, its impact on people is both good and bad, and it needs to be used correctly.

This study about: uses activity theory to understand how English as a foreign language students engage with a chatbot, Argumate, when composing argumentative essays. And contribute to a better understanding of the complex interplay among students, chatbots, and other key elements in the activity system of chatbot-assisted writing.

As for theoretical implications, by identifying the challenges experienced by the students during their collaboration with Argumate, this study can inform chatbot developers of important design principles for developing chatbots by attuning to students needs and addressing these problems. By doing so, students will have better engagement and enjoyment while using chat bots in the composing process and ultimately achieve better writing outcomes.

As for space for future research, on the one hand, future research can delve into whether individual and contextual factors

might affect the collaborative patterns between EFL students and chatbots when

students are engaged in chatbot-assisted writing. On the other hand, this study focused on the student-chatbot community in the writing activity. Future research can investigate how these other community members like teachers and peers may influence students interaction with chat bots in their writing process.
