Fernando, L. (2010) identified the factors that contribute to the increasing in the number of drug-related felonies among university students. First of all, when students faced with very difficult problems, drug abuse will be resort by young adults. Other than that, family is the main protagonist in the increasing of drug-related offences among students. Last but not least,a factor that can also influence young adults to be trapped with drugs is poor economy.
This article is suitable for general readers because it state the factors that contribute to the increasing of drug-related felonies. This article do not need a higher level of understanding as there is no technical terms used in this article such “clutches”and “indispensable”.
The writer has less authority to write this article.This is because the writer just use general term and did not include such technical terms such as “cocaine” and “heroine”.The writer also good in explaining about this topic because he put balance elaborations for each point of view.So we can conclude that the writer is a journalist or reporter.
Based on the text,biased words and phrases such as alarming, sadly, felonies,clutches of their family,absolute autonomy and worrisome.That show the writer is stance against drug use.However,the writer is being objective by not favour any particular sides.The writer does not include his personal views or any emotion in the text.In paragraph 3,the writer state that poor economy become one factor of involvement of student with drug but student from well-to-do backgrounds also may be attempted to become involved with drug.This show that the writer address the issues from different view on the subject matter.
In conclusion,this article is a good article but if the writer want to improve this article,he should give more elaboration on religious backround.So the paragraph will look more balance because on that point of view has lack of content.
