The grass

The grass that is green when it rains, and brown when it doesn’t

I am from the family that gets together every major holiday,

And that goes on vacations about every 3 years.

Mom and dad and grandpa 

I am from a family that goes to church, and has big meals every Thanksgiving 

From being told to say please, and thank you

I am from LeRoy Illinois, 

Corn on the cob and mashed potatoes.

From the grandpa that came here to farm

And the grandma that worked at Monsanto
