2. Chapter 11: Self Motivation Quiz

I scored an astounding 43/60. According to MindTool," To achieve what you want, try to increase the motivation factors in all areas of your life. Read the relevant sections below, and work on them to strengthen your self-motivation." I feel I did well though there is much growth to be done. One way recommended to me by MindTool to increase my motivation is positive thinking and positive thinking about the future. Though the future scared me I gave it a chance. What I did first was anytime I had a negative thought I would attempt to transfer it to a positive thought. As for my future, I tried visualizing the best possible way for me to achieve my goals. I could just imagine myself in a white coat operating on someone in need. These visualizations gave me great motivation for my future passions.

3. Chapter 12: Self Confidence Quiz

I scored 46/60 on the self-confidence quiz. According to MindTool," You're a little too hard on yourself, and this may stop you from getting the full benefit of your mastery experiences." This is very interesting because I thought I had perfect confidence. Though when these questions were asked I realised it was not as good as I thought. A method I think is great that was recommended to me by MindTool is Creating a motivating environment. I then put myself up to realistic challenges that were hard but doable. Specifically, I challenged myself by attempting to give to the homeless a couple of times a week. This helped me make better decisions resulting in my confidence growing. I am now very confident in all the choices I make.

Regression seems to be my thing. A disagreement can go a long way for me. A time I used regression was when I and my friend disagreed on where we would eat. I wanted Wendy's he wanted Burger King. We sat in the car arguing for a solid 10 minutes. I had just finished playing basketball and I was starving. My temper was as low as ever. The way I used regression was by yelling outside of the window while we were driving. People started looking at us like he had kidnapped me. According to the textbook page 398 regression means, Reverting to immature ways of responding." I have to say it wasn't my best day. This only resulted in us being mad at each other for something so little. I learned to be more calm in these situations and this thankfully never happened again.

Something that I found interesting, could relate to and what I thought was the best piece of information was Bipolar and related disorders. My first cousin is Bipolar. It was crazy the way his mood swings would work. One hour he was this way another he was like a whole different person it was fascinating. As we know from the textbook Bipolar means," Problems associated with alternating episodes of depression and mania." The fact that I could learn about this amazed me because I could further understand what my cousin was going through. Before he was diagnosed everyone thought that was just how he was. But when the diagnosis was made it was then that we saw what was going on. To me, it was a little bit weird why we could see what he was going through after he was diagnosed. Oh well, the way the brain functions is a fascinating thing.

6. 2 Concepts I found most Interesting

One concept I enjoyed learning about was learning about the Scientific Method. This was pretty much the building block to science we needed to know that I use till this day. It is the steps you take to complete a task of any kind. I learned that I could use this for any real-world problems I had like when I was trying to learn how to fix my grade in math class. I used the method to create a plan that worked for me. Another Concept I enjoyed was chapter 3.1 understanding stress as a whole. I realized after this chapter that there are countless amount of sources of stress. It could be from your job, marriage, school, etc. I at one point didn't even realize I was stressed from school until this class portrayed stress in many different ways. You could say I liked this chapter because I could relate to it.

Wow, what an adventure. I loved this class what a productive semester I learned more just this semester than I have learned in some of my in-person classes. This class let you be you which stood out for me. Mrs.Buchanan brings out the best in me and I hope for the rest of my classmates. She always knew how to balance a workload with fun. However, what I was not fond of was how many different apps and websites were used. A lot of these websites that were required to be used could have all been done in one website. I understand maybe she wanted us to try new things but with the amount of work there was a lot of people didn't have time to learn about new websites.
