         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are three components of Digital Fluency:<br>The first is Digital Proficiency. Digital Proficiency means being able to understand, select and use technologies.<br>The second is Digital Literacy. Digital Literacy is about cognitive and intellectual competency. It involves being able to apply technological skills when creating, reading, and making judgements.<br>The third is Social Competence. Social competence refers to how people can relate to others and are able to effectively communicate while using technology.</div>]]></description>

In addition, if we are digitally fluent, we can take advantage of opportunities such as connecting with our community and applying for work.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Digital Fluency in a Secondary Classroom</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Although digital fluency is developed from a young age, it is especially important in secondary school.<br>Year 8 should focus on consolidating the skills of the students and ensuring they all have a similar level of digital fluency.<br>In Year 9, students should be exposed to new experiences and skills with technology.<br>Year 10 should develop students' individual digital fluencies based on their skills and interests.<br>In Year 11, the digital fluencies of the students should be extended into new contexts.<br>Finally, in Year 12, it is hoped that the students are digitally proficient.<br>(Howell, 2012)</div>]]></description>
