I teach Physics and Chemistry and the activities shown on the booklet are easily applicable to this subject.
I find it very interesting that students explain how we produce electricity (differentiating between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy) as well as choose which of them is the least polluting.
For doing that, they should calculate how much CO2 is emitted (if any) and if clean energy resouces are sufficient to cover all our energetic necessities (for this, they should calculate how much energy electric appliances use).

I teach English as a second language in an upper secondary school. I think I could work along with my Science and Geography colleagues and use English not as a topic - subject but as a vehicle, that is to say the communicative means to approach the different issues related to carbon footprint. At the end of all activities I could ask my elder students to create a leaflet or better an infographic with the data collected. I am a Biology teacher and I also teach citizenship. What I do is I ask students to document all the things they throw in the trash can for a week. They take pictures of everything and they write everything down. At the end of the week we take a look at what the students came up with and they are all amazed by the fact how much garbage one single person can produce. The effect is way better in comparison to only me telling them to be careful about what they throw away.

As a geography teacher, I regularly ask my students to calculate their ecological footprints online. Most of the students are astonished at the results. However, they are often too lazy to record their use of water in a day.

Therefore, I would rather focus on the sustainable development goals. I would ask the students to brainstorm 17 goals to transform our world in groups of four. Then I'd ask two groups to get together and to compare their lists in order to come up with an adapted list of 17 goals. So there would be three lists in class that could be analysed as whole class and subsequently be compared to the original list of SDGs.

For lower secondary classes, one could consider giving them a handout with the 17 icons of the SDGs. Then they’d have a starting point for their discussions.

There is a lot of useful information in the booklet that will definitely help me in working with students. My plan is to integrate these topics into the teaching of all the classes I teach.
The activity I would do with the students would be calculating the environmental footprint using an online calculator.
They would then discuss solutions and suggest ways we can reduce our environmental footprint. They would keep a diary of all activities.

I would choose the topic "water use" from the "My Carbon Footprint" booklet. We did an eTwinning project on this subject in the school year 2020-2021. In our project, we enabled our students to do research on water footprint. They then joined the forum discussion with their peers. We have prepared a table where our students can practically record how they can reduce their water footprints at home. Our students worked with their families at home for 4 weeks to reduce their water footprints. They recorded all the data in the table. As a result, they prepared a presentation with all the data and results together with their peers. Thus, they developed conscious behaviors about water use through peer learning. I am a language teacher.
I have never used this topic in my classes.
Now that I have all these amazing sources, I will definitely try it.
Instead of measuring and recording, I'd rather focus on SDGs. My students are already familiar with them. Now I would ask them to find connections between them. I would choose one specific principle and ask them to prepare a mind map( it can be a digital mindmap:-)) where they can show how much they are related to each other.

I'm a violin teacher. I would organize a concert in the park next to the school where we could then talk about nature and environmental protection.

The booklet has some really useful information. These can be integrated into many disciplines. I would first start by calculating the environmental footprint. Then I would discuss with the students what we could change in our lives. I would also draw attention to how we are going to recycle the waste. We need a generation that uses by transforming, not consuming.

I found all the activities inspiring. As the topic "Environment" makes part of the curriculum (and because it's urgent to take action), I think I could make my 11th-grade students do some fieldwork on the quarries that exist in our place and then try to use that work to bring awareness to the problem, mainly to our municipality and locals.

I would choose FOOD to work with 13-14 year old pupils.
Here are the tasks they would do:

1) MENU:
a) In teams of 4, create a menu with ingredients /dishes you usually have at home (a starter, a main dish and dessert).
b) Agree on which ingredient(s) / dishes you will be responsible in your team. Share equally. make it easy for your team.

2) SHOPPING:
When you go shopping with your parents/ or at home once parents did the shopping, take a photo of your ingredient(s) with the packaging and price.

3) PHOTOS + PACKAGING + PRICES:
Add this photo to a common Word document with the names and surnames of the team members. Specify the name of your dish/ ingredients below the picture(s).

4) CALCULATE:
Calculate the Food Carbon Footprint of each of your ingredients thanks to the Enviro Audit sheet.

5)POSTERS:
Make a poster on CANVA to represent the carbon footprint results of your chosen meal.

I teach English in an upper school ( 14-19 years old). It is a Technical High School which prepares students to be agronomists, so that they could be able to open their own company/farm when they leave school. because og the subject they learn related to agriculture and food processing developing an tackling this topic for them is vital to eventually start up an organic or even a biodinamica far.

The tips presented in the WWF guide are very meaningful. In my school we have created a "board" composed of teachers and students to calculate their ecological footprint analyzed in the following sections:
- Transport
- reusing and recycling waste
- food growing and processing
- analysis of plastic use and waste.
After several scheduled meetings they have decided :
- to provide every student with aluminium bottle to drink tap water.
- to reduce the available areas in the school car park in order to discourage use of cars.
- to create bike racks to encourage use of bike.
- to eliminate the automatic food dispenser to discourage use of junk food and plastic waste.
As for me, I would

- I would divide them in groups in which each group has to:
- study online resources on Earth Overshot Day in order to list actions everyone of us most commonly does to pollute the environment and therefore promote better practices ( precise and easy to monitor) to reduce their foot print
- create a footprint online calculator to be inserted in our school website ( in English of course)
- Insert in the school website every good practice the whole school staff develop, following the decision made by the GREEN BOARD.
- Produce a power point with good practices to produce and process sustainable food, and insert it in the school website archive.

I teach in the first grade of elementary school. I would apply teaching with ecological footprint in teaching nature and society. The energy chapter provides space to explore how to behave responsibly when using devices. Students are still small, so it will be enough to raise awareness of the fact that you need to save water, electricity. Students will keep a diary in which they will record how they brush their teeth, wash, bathe, illuminate the space in which they stay, heat the rooms, sort waste. Analyze student diaries to identify unacceptable behaviors and identify acceptable behaviors that do not harm the environment.

Our students conducted interviews to measure the awareness of their friends. They designed posters that draw attention to this issue. They made projects where they produced solutions using Microbit.

I teach English in a high school of science and last year we ran an eTwinning project called Climate Change, in which students calculated their carbonfootprints and we planted trees to combat climate change. I am also running Planet-saving, life-changing projects this year to raise awareness on Climate change and sustainability.I collaborate with Biology teacher at my school too.

In addition to the theoretical knowledge of the lacquar , whenever we have the opportunity to participate in practical cleaning activities of the areas that are imitated by our school. As in the example .

I´m a spanish teacher so I would introduce the vocabulary with the video and some game on Quizlet or Quizizz and then I would propose them to fill the footprint calculator so that student would be aware of their impact in the enviorement, than they could analyse the results debate and make propositions to improve.

I'm an English teacher so I would definitely not be able to make an activity using science so as an alternative, I would use SDGs. After a brief presentation of the list , I would proceed to a project. Students will form groups and choose those goals related to environmental sustainability and resilience. After doing their research, they would get short information about each of these goals and the solutions provided. All information will be collected and the final product can be a powerpoint presentation or a ThingLink interactive image.

In English class, from vocabulary to four main skills, in every step we can adapt the lesson themes using the digital tools to the environmental issues. One for global warming and ecological footprint. The students calculate their footprint and then search for what they can do for the problem. Then, they discuss, share their ideas, prepare a roadmap and write about their ideas and their solutions for reducing or tolerating their carbon footprint.They carry out their actions and force their friends and families to do so through a project on it.
