One day little old Bilbo Baggins was pushed into something he was never planning to do. He was pushed into an adventure that ultimately made him a whole different hobbit, he is now more independent, confident, and more sure of himself. In the novel " Between Shades of Gray " the protagonist, Lina, was stripped away from her normal life and forced to go to a concentration camp. Although concentration camps are not a good thing it eventually helped her in the same way Bilbo's adventure helped him. They both grew to become stronger people than they started out as." His little sword was something new in the way of strings for them. How it darted to and fro! It shone with delight as he stabbed at them. Half a dozen were killed before the rest drew off and left Bombur and Bilbo (163)".

Black, a color of emptiness, loneliness, the unknown, the unexpected, and fear.
The color black to me represents the cave Kili and Fili found in the beginning of the novel. It was an unexpected find, they didn't know what was in it, it was "deserted", and almost like it was set up for them to find. " They followed the tracks up the hill, until hidden by bushes they came on a big door of stone leading to a cave ( 42 )".

I personally don't believe in the theory that humans all came from apes, but I do believe that this "human evolution chart" connects to one of the lessons I've learned from this book. A lesson that I've learned from this book is that it unexpected things or events help you grow or become such a different person. In this chart it shows a small ape go through many years and challenges, it eventually evolves into a human.

The City of Bones is a book written by Cassandra Clare. This book is all about adventure, its always giving you anxiety, and making you wonder whether your favorite character will make it through any trial that they face. When reading the hobbit these are that exact emotions I am feeling and the emotions the author want you to feel. They wouldn't be writing an action packed book if they didn't want you to feel on edge.

A fidget spinner, made to handle bad cases of anxiety, recently banned from places including my school. In the start of the conflict Bilbo is just trying to pass through to find his friends, but eventually ends up getting himself in trouble with some humongous spiders. Which is exactly what happened to the fidget spinner, it was harmless at first and then became a huge problem.
