With the help of innocence Canada they had newly updated DNA technology that helped them determine who the real killer was. David's wrongful conviction was not just based on DNA but also eye witness accounts that were vastly different from what happened. During Davids sentence he suffered abuse, sexual assault and a near fatal gunshot wound.
